Two Full Weeks in the USA

Early on Tuesday, December 19 we left Lesvos and flew to Athens.

Early on Wednesday December 20, after a terrible night of sleep with 3 sick Eglis, we flew from Athens to Philadelphia via Frankfurt.
We were scheduled to have a 3h layover; upon landing we learned that it would be a 6h layover due to technical issues on the plane.  In the end we were grateful when it was only a 5h layover!

Besides the delayed flight, we had an uneventful day of travel and landed in Philadelphia with all of our luggage.

After 22h of door-to-door travel, and nearly 30h of being awake with only 2 short 1h naps, we thought for sure that Judah would at least sleep through the first night.  But jet lag with an 18 month old is no joke - he was ready to play by 2am (9am in Greece)!  We were extra thankful for the warm welcome in the home of our forever-friends, Ben, Steph, and Grace Roberts.

Grace is just a few months older than Judah, so their house was a dream for Judah (and us).

On December 21 we picked up our new [to us] car and set up our new cell phone numbers.

On December 22 we drove our new car to our new home in Williamsport and were greeted on the front steps by Jordan's mom who had made our beds and decorated for Christmas.  What a blessing!

Later that day we had friends drop off cribs, a changing table and toys for Judah before we joined Jordan's siblings at his parents' house (15 minutes away) to begin Christmas celebrations.

31 weeks pregnant!

Judah met his great-grandma Egli which was so special!

Pictured below are all the cousins:
Judah (18 months), Reeve (17 months), Cohen (6 1/2), Beau (8 months), Mae (20 months).

It was chaotic and so much fun to be together!

We girls left the babies at home with their dads and had a fun brunch out - an extra treat for me since brunch isn't really a thing in Europe.

On December 29 all of the Eglis were heading back to their homes and we got ready to welcome the Kissling family to our new home from December 30 - January 3.

Gram and Poppy got Judah a Cosy Coupe truck - he LOVES it!

On New Year's Day Jordan's parents and our good friends, Ben and Cassady, joined us for our traditional meal of soup.

It's truly been a whirlwind few weeks.

We are so thankful for the welcome we've received from friends and family and for the furnished home and great car that God provided.  We are slowly settling into our new home, continually praying for a healthy and sustainable rhythm for our family despite the constant moving and transition (we begin traveling again next week).

Cheers to 2018 in the USA!
