Clothing Warehouse

While Jordan worked at Camp one day, Judah and I had the opportunity to go to the clothing warehouse.

I'm not sure we helped all that much, but we certainly learned a lot!

Jeanne has been volunteering in Lesvos for several months; her primary ministry is clothing.  She did a great job of sharing with us the work and ministry of this warehouse (see the video below), and I was impressed by the connections she's made with the local Greeks.  The entire Greek community has suffered in the last few years - first with the financial crisis and now with the refugee crisis - especially in Lesvos.  Through her daily work at the clothing warehouse Jeanne is a true blessing to the entire community.

Some of their greatest needs at the warehouse are socks, underwear, and men's t-shirts and pants, as well as children's clothing of all sizes.  Though the idea of donating clothes is nice, the most practical way to help is through donating money so that people like Jeanne can purchase exactly what they most need at the moment (which also helps the local Greek economy).  If you're interested in participating, you can give a tax-deductible gift through GEM Refuge by clicking here.
