Brix4Aix

Last week I shared an update on the building project for our church in Aix-les-Bains.  I explained that, due to the French banks not having a clear category for churches to fit into, we've been encouraged to seek loans and donations from individuals rather than banks.

Well now I wanted to share how one church has really gotten behind our church and is helping us "Build Le Rivage."

A church in Rochester, England supports our church regularly.  They have committed to financially supporting us and partnering with us during the early stages of our project in Aix-les-Bains, knowing that ultimately we desire to be an independent and financially self-sufficient church.  In addition to their regular monthly support, they initiated a project to help us raise money for the purchase of a building in Aix-les-Bains:  Brix4Aix! 

For a few pounds each, individuals and families of the church could purchase "bricks" as a way to help "build a wall" for our church.  For several weeks they "sold" the bricks and this week we learned that they have raised over $10,000 to help build Le Rivage! 

Not only have they raised an incredible sum of money, they have also written personal notes of encouragement and Bible verses on each of the bricks that they will be sending us as a way of showing their support of us, our ministry, our church, and our project.  What an inspiration and encouragement!
