Pray for: Northern France
"Marie-Chantal takes a deep breath as she makes her way to the stables. Her mother’s great-grandparents rebuilt the chateau after the Revolution, in 1799. Her grandchildren still find German bullets in the rich soil, remnants of past wars. This place is hers. The history is also hers.
She does not know what the future holds for herself or her family. With her income taxes increasing to 45% and her contributions to Social Security adding more of a burden to her finances, Marie-Chantal finds herself longing for security. French society assumes that the government should take care of everything, but will it be able? As she faces these challenges, the need for the Church and God seems superfluous."
France has a culture steeped in Christian history and traditions but it's become very secular nation. The challenge is not naming Christ where He has not been made known, but revealing the truth of the Gospel to those who have heard something different. If you're interested, here is a brief timeline of religion in France.
Please pray for those like Marie-Chantal and her family. Please pray that they will find security in God the Father. Please pray that the people of northern France will stop looking to the government to cure all of their problems and start looking to the Creator of all.
