Festival IN the Lake
It's raining and raining and raining..... and raining.
It's been raining for 4 days. and the forecast shows no sign of change over the next 4 days. The only thing on my mind is that Musilac may literally be a music festival in the lake rather than beside it.
Maybe their advertising campaign for this year was more telling than they knew....
Musilac is the largest music festival in the region. Thousands of people will come to Aix-les-Bains this weekend (July 11-13) for 3 full days of concerts by well-known bands (or at least well-known to the people of this country; I'm not sure I've heard of a single group...or maybe I'm just not that cool). Jordan and I, along with a friend from church, will be volunteering for this event as a way to serve our city and community doing anything from directing parking to welcoming bands and participants to selling merchandise or picking up trash.
Pray with us? For nice, dry weather, clear communication, and good contacts. For protection for us, the other volunteers, and the participants - many of which are just finishing a rigorous school year and are ready to party. For joy as we serve, even if it means we're standing in the rain for 12 hours at a time. Though, again, I'm praying for dry weather. Pray with us.
With a wet, soggy, lake-like lawn, I, for one, am grateful we'll be sleeping in our own warm, dry bed and not camping like many of the other volunteers and festival attendees.
