What do we miss the most from the United States?

We miss…

The ability to understand every word, every phrase, every conversation, every conclusion, every joke.

Knowing how to best look something up on the internet - particularly local events.

Knowing exactly how much butter is being put into a recipe.

Friends and family calling us instead of us calling them.

Not being afraid to answer our telephones when an unknown number appears.

Clear communication.

Garbage disposals.

Turning on the radio and listening to good, known music - especially now that it's the Christmas season.

Cheap clothes.

Cheap anything, actually.

Macaroni and Cheese.

Knowing how to appropriately greet people and say goodbye.

We miss our competency.

**Please note that this isn't meant to be a depressing post.  This is simply the reality of life abroad.  We're actually doing quite well these days!
