TdF Prayer Team: Day 6

Saturday morning we met with a family in Gresy-sur-Aix, a suburb-like community outside of Aix-les-Bains.  Francois is an evangelist who has lived in Aix-les-Bains for 40 years; as an electrician, he has a lot of contacts in the community!  He shared his testimony, some of his experiences in the churches in Aix, how he has seen the city change over the last several decades, and how he sees opportunities for ministry now.  Francois has been praying for a pastor to move to Gresy - Praise God for answering his prayers with Steve and Donna!

We then drove to Tresserve, another small community on the mountain-top between Aix-les-Bains and the lake.  It has a beautiful view, so we sat on a bench and prayed for the city and its leaders.

Our Prayer Team was beginning to wonder if the lake was just a facade, since they'd only ever seen it from a distance, so we took them to the Grand Port for lunch and walked along the water praying for the passers-by - which there were a lot of because of the large Musilac Festival taking place this weekend.

We are beginning to think about possible opportunities for future short-term teams.  Perhaps next year we can have a group of college students join us for Musilac - it would be a great opportunity to meet young people and start conversations.
We'll see!

For dinner, we celebrated a blessed week at a restaurant that is quickly becoming a favorite of Jordan's and mine (last night was only our second visit) for the great food, beautiful view, and delicious dessert. (Seriously, one of the best chocolate molten lava cakes I have ever had with rhubarb, strawberries, and sorbet.... fortunately, you don't have to hear me pronounce the French name for the cake.  I brought a lot of laughter to our waiter as I practiced saying it over and over again!)

If you come to visit us, we will probably take you there, too. I promised the waiter that I'd be better at pronouncing the name of the dessert at our next visit. :)
