From Akron to Aix

Last week our friends Jackie and Chas came to visit.  They were leading a team of college students on a mission trip to Thailand, and, on their way home, they had a layover in Zurich.  Lucky for us, they decided to extend their layover for several days and take the 4 hour train ride to Aix-les-Bains.  Though we were still in school and had our usual responsibilities, it was fun to play both tour guide and tourist with our friends for a few days!

Jackie and I were college roommates, and we are grateful for the ways that we have grown in the years since we lived together.

We enjoyed the beautiful views of our city while we ran together...
and our husbands (shown swimming above) enjoyed hitting the bike trails.

The running and biking were necessary after all of the delicious French food we ate!

Jackie and Chas were able to get a better picture of our life and ministry in France, and we were encouraged by their hearts for the nations. As they shared with us their vision to move into the city of Akron, OH, we were reminded that all Christians are called to make and multiply disciples – whether in France, Thailand, or Ohio.

On Friday we piled into our car and headed for Zurich.  We had a quick lunch together before we parted ways – Jordan and me onto Germany for a retreat and Jackie and Chas onto the USA.
You’ll hear more about our R&R later......
