On the Road Again

On Friday night we purchased a 2006 Ford C-Max (aka:  Ford Focus).  As we counted the cash to pay our new friend, we were overwhelmed by the generosity of others; thank you for giving so generously over the last year so that we could afford to make this necessary purchase!

And so, in true Egli fashion, after 2 weeks in one home, we packed our bags into our new car and hit the road.  We left Aix-les-Bains and drove about an hour south to visit our dear friends, Micah and Andrea.  (Perhaps you remember them from this video at Pre-Field Training; they are also serving with GEM, living in the Grenoble area.)

Micah and Andrea have been in France for about 2 months longer than us.  We are looking to them as our guinea pigs - they can make the mistakes with banking, driving, and settling, and we'll just learn from them. :)

In all seriousness though, it was fun to shop at IKEA (and created our wish list), visit their church, see a bit of their city, and just spend time together as friends.  We are so thankful to have them close by!

Andrea and Jordan spent a lot of time budgeting - they called it fun.

While we still await an apartment to call home, it feels familiar to be living out of a car again.  :)  The Wattier family is kind enough to continue to host us, but please keep praying for the right apartment to open for us quickly!

  1. Kate - so fun to see y'all! Thanks for your email...we are working hard here at language school. You are in our prayers! Living in the south does have its advantages though, it was sunny and 70 today!
