When will we move to France?
The most popular question we hear is, "When are you moving to France?" Our answer is, "As soon as possible." Recently, the process of sharing our story and raising support has been very encouraging. We are thankful to have about 67% of our monthly support verbally committed at this point! We had a very encouraging and refreshing trip to Colorado. What a gift to be there for a whole month!
When the Israelites were wandering through the desert in the Old Testament, I'm sure they wondered when they would reach the Promised Land. I'm sure they were eager to get there, but they didn't know exactly when they would arrive. Only God knew the timing.
Kate and I have been on this road of getting to France for almost a year now, and we are eager to get to there. We would like to get to France as soon as possible, but only God knows the timing. We have to trust in His timing because we know His timing is better than ours. I'm sure that God is teaching us things before we get to France. Some of the things He's teaching us, we understand and see clearly; other things I think we may not know until we're on the other side.
We will move to France in God's timing. Until then, we walk each day with what He sets before us.
Here is how we've walked some of our days over the last few months:

Being in Colorado Springs allowed us to spend time at the GEM office and reconnect with former co-workers and dear friends. We also had several opportunities to share with churches and individuals - both old and new contacts. When we departed for Colorado on August 21 we had 55% of our monthly support pledged; we now have 67%. Praise God! We also praise God for Dane, Annemarie, and Colson's hospitality. No one else has hosted us for 5 weeks in a row!
Spending more than 2 weeks in one location also allowed us to plug in to a community.
Before returning east my uncle invited us to visit his family near Phoenix, AZ. We spent a few days driving there and enjoyed God's creation throughout southwest CO, southern Utah, and the Grand Canyon.
While with Phil, Laura, and Cody we were given the opportunity to share at their church.
We are so grateful for their whole-hearted support!
We returned to PA just in time to share at ACF, our church fellowship at Penn State. There happened to be several alumni and friends visiting State College at the same time, which was a special treat.
On October 1 Kate's grandma, Ruth Kissling, passed away.
29 Kisslings gathered to celebrate and remember her life; 17 were missing.
This is a photo of Grandpa Bob with the grandchildren who could be there.
Sorry to hear about your Grandma Kate. Dan S.
