Call it Coincidence
It started with a "random" Google search. One day I (Jordan) typed "Church-planting in Aix-les-Bains, France," into Google. I wondered if it could give me any history or updates on people sharing the Gospel in the city we are planning to move to. God had big plans for that search. The first link I came across led me to the website of a pastor in New Hampshire who lived in Aix for a few years. After a few emails back and forth, Kate and I enjoyed an hour and a half phone conversation with Mac Starring, the pastor of Faith Bible Church in Littleton, NH . What a conversation! He shared his heart for France with us, and gave us some insight into the French culture. At the end of the conversation, Mac told us he would love to have us visit. Immediately, we began planning our trip to New England.
We had the opportunity to meet with several old friends and some of our family. This trip consisted of many quality conversations. We also took a few days to rest in beautiful, buggy northern New Hampshire at Forest Haven, a place specifically for couples in full-time ministry.
The final Sunday of our trip we shared at both services at Faith Bible Church (click to hear our message). We met Pastor Mac and several other wonderful people. This community made sure to bless us in our visit--through finances, feedback, and fellowship. After church, we spent some more time with Mac, where he shared even more of his heart for France and excitement for how God is leading us to Aix. He may be the only person more excited for us to move to France than Kate and I. We look forward to continuing our relationship with that community.
As we started driving back to PA, Kate and I both shared how grateful and excited we were about our trip--this was an ideal trip for us. And to think that this trip started with a simple search in Google. It's led us to a very valuable connection with Mac and his wife, Jan.
I pray that we would be able to continue walking in the Spirit and seeing where He is leading. Thank God for His divine plans!
You can call is coincidence. We will call it God.
